OH MY GOSH I bit off more then I could chew with this challenge. LOL!! When I first heard about the Magnolia Easter Spring Extravaganza Contest I was so excited about thinking of what to make I could hardly sleep!! Now 3 weeks later, 20hrs into my project, 100 pictures and a big mess I'm glad it's finally done!! LOL!!
And to think all this started with a paper mache egg!! I felt like such a kid making this and I must say it was fun....until the 2nd & 3rd layer. After I started building my egg I noticed a few others are entering eggs too. Well what did I expect? It's a Easter competition!! LOL! THEN I found out that you could buy them at Michaels. DRAT!!
This was the hardest project ever to take pictures of so sorry if I overwhelm you with a bunch of them. You can click on all the pictures to make them bigger. I think they look better like that.
All the little white flowers were cut out with my Silhouette then I pushed on the center of them with a tool used for applying rub-ons to get them to "flower up". I added a center of Stardust glitter to each one and in real life, they really sparkle. The river was made with strips of blue textured paper. I laid down double sided tape and started applying them and pleating as I went so it didn't look so flat. The bridge was made by rolling little pieces of kraft paper, distressing the ends and then tying them together with Scrapper's Floss.
The tree in the middle is the Spring Magnolia Tree from Magnolia and I stamped an extra and added more blossoms. WOW!! That was time consuming! The little posts holding up the banner are chop sticks covered with pink ribbon. For some reason I found that really amusing. LOL!!
Here we have Tilda With Eggs in Her Apron sitting on Stone Wall With End Pillar. The dirt on the path in front of her is Barbara Trombley's Earth Elements. I adhered using double-sided tape and it worked pretty well.
Tilda With Newly Hatched Egg is the image I've used here.
Ok I just HAD to use the Twins......a lot of you know why but for those who don't it's cuz I am one!!! They enjoy going barefoot in the grass and I had them stand in front of the Log image.....oh I make it sound like I asked them to move there. Yikes! That's getting lost in your project. LOL!
This is Tilda With a Small Gift and she comes with a tag hanging down from a gift she is hiding behind her back. I cut off the tag cuz I knew if I tried to cut it out carefully I'd end up ripping it. And even without the tag she just has such a cute pose!
I never claimed to be a photographer but only a crafter. LOL!! I must have 100 shots of Heartbreaker Edwin and still I couldn't get a good photo but at least it shows you that he's on his cloud.
Well that's it for now. I will come back with a HOW I DID IT post one day but for now let's just look at the completed project. I think this post is long enough!
Good luck to all the entries!! You ladies have done an amazing job!!
To friends of mine who are in the Yahoo Magnolia group I would truly appreciate your vote when it comes time and if you feel my project is worthy!! No sympathy votes please. LMBO!!
