Winter Wishes

How about a shaker box card for today?

I love these things but for some reason I make very few of them and really they are quite easy.  I started out by picking one piece of paper from the gorgeous "Peeling Paint" 6" x 6" paper pack.  I knew I was going to cover quite a bit of it so I decided only one piece would do and yup, very unusual for me I know it!  😂😂  I distressed all edges using hickory smoke distress ink.

I thought since I was going to cover a layer with design paper I might as well cut right from the middle and use it for my focal piece.  And honestly, I only had a few squares of it left and it was the perfect color so I was being creative in case I needed more.  LOL!!

Before putting my image into the sealed shaker, I added some stardust Stickles to those big gorgeous snowflakes and some Enamel accents to the little snowman's hat.

Here are the elements of my shaker.  This is the back side of my clear top piece and a variety of shaker pieces to add to the inside.

The next step for me is to grab all my embellishments that I MIGHT use and see what works with the card and what real estate I am able to cover up.  LOL!!  I already added the gorgeous "Glorious Border" craft die hiding beneath some burlap butterflies and some leather tassels I had in my stash.  I've got quite a selection of silver and wooden hearts for wherever my creativeness takes me.  I never know what my card will end up looking like and it's always a pleasant surprise.  I created a tag using Posydoodles Tags die set and a saying from the Sentimentals 6" x 6" pack.

After I decided on my choices for the variety from above, I then started with my flowers and added a couple of amazing bouquets.

When I was finished glueing everything down I added some more Stardust stickles to the wooden hearts to complete the look.   This image is from the new collection "Winnie Winter Wishes" and what I loved about this one is it doesn't have to be a Christmas card but you could make it into a birthday card or a sweet "hello" card.  It's very versatile.

So do you always know pretty much what your card is going to look like when you're finished?  I'm always amazed when I even come CLOSE to what I first envision.  😂  That's the great thing about this hobby.  Nothing is ever wrong.  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by today!
